Embracing Educational Challenges Through Collaboration By David Wood
Document: Article
Introductory Paragraph: While educators have always experienced challenges in providing leadership and literacy instruction, the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted existing challenges and introduced new ones. This qualitative case study looked at information gathered from four suburban K-8 principals and their literacy teachers to identify the post-pandemic challenges at each of their schools. Data provided through interviews and questionnaires gave insights into the challenges facing schools as to how the systems and structures in place may contribute to those challenges. It is important to identify these challenges and understand what contributes to them so that educators and stakeholders in the school system can effectively reflect on and adapt their practices to increase collaboration within schools.
